OKARA: Fourteen people, including four lawyers, were booked for thrashing an assistant sub-inspector on the premises of court premises.

ASI Javed Aslam appeared in the district courts complex on Saturday in connection with the robbery case in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Raja Safdar.

After appearing in the court, the ASI was standing outside the court when four lawyers, namely Abdul Rehman Dogar, Rai Zulifgar Mumdera, Malik Numan, Rana Azeem, and 10 unidentified people reached there and started thrashing him. They also tore off his uniform.

The reason for the incident is could not be known.

However, a case was registered with the Sadar Police Station on the report of ASI Aslam despite the efforts of the office-bearers of the district bar who wanted to resolve the matter with any police case. This might have triggered the incident that happened on the court premises on Saturday.
