Annoyed PTI workers leave Karak for Banigala

KARAK: A procession of annoyed workers of PTI left here on Sunday for Islamabad to meet party chairman Imran Khan at his Banigala residence to air their grievances.

Hundreds of PTI workers and former office-bearers led by former district president Altaf Qadir Khattak Advocate gathered at Mithakhel and headed in a procession of dozens of vehicles for the federal capital.

On the occasion, Qadir Khattak levelled serious allegations of corruption against lawmakers from Karak and demanded probe intomisappropriation of the oil and gas royalty funds by the local MPA and MNA during last four years.

He said no development project had been launched in the district during the period, adding lawmakers had no regard for the ideological workers. Mr Qadir, who is also founder member of the party in the district, said reputation of PTI had been dented in Karak, adding the party affairs were being run by the father of MPA Gul Sahib Khan and district nazim Umer Daraz.

He said they would urge Imran Khan to take action against those involved in corrupt practices.TRADERS PROTEST: The traders of Teri Bazaarstaged aprotestonSunday againstthe tehsil municipal administration over its failure to keep the city clean.

They criticised the tehsil municipal officer for not taking interest in the public welfare works. They complained that due to chocked drains bad smell had engulfed the entire city, and claimed that they had requested the TMO several times to launch cleanliness drive in the city, but to no avail.

They set a 24-hour deadline for the TMA to launch cleanliness drive in the city, otherwise they would besiege the offices of the civic body.
