2016-09-27
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday sought personal appearance of Punjab Institute of Mental Health, Lahore, medical superintendent in connection with a petition for recovery of a woman pensioner living at the institute at present.

Rights activist Ayesha Bhatti filed the petition and contended that Farhat Khan, who retired from election commission, was admitted to the mental health institute by her nephew. She said the nephew, who happened to be a DMG officer, misled the hospital administration to get his aunt admitted as a patient.

The petitioner alleged Ali Raza Bhutta, son of Ms Khan`s late sister, wanted to grab her property as she was without issue. She asked the court to order police to recover the woman from the hospital and produce her in the court.

Justice Erum Sajjad Gull directed the hospital MS to appear on Sept 29 and also bring the woman, if feasible. Staff Reporter
