Private schools closed today

RAWALPINDI: Following reports of aftershocks, the private schools and colleges in Rawalpindi will remain closed on Tuesday.

In Islamabad, four main private schools have declared a holiday. Whereas, the government educational institutions will continue working as per routine.

Announcing the decision, the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association president, Malik Abrar, on Monday said the decision had been taken to avoid any untoward situation.

He said parents had been requested to arrange special prayers for earthquake victims.

On the other hand, Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed told Dawn that no holiday had been announced for government educational institutions on Tuesday.

In Islamabad , the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Director Sahib Raza Hasnain Kharal also said that all schools and colleges under the administrative control of the directorate would remain open on Tuesday.
