LANDI KOTAL: Collector Customs KP Qurban Ali Mohmand on Wednesday inaugurated the newly-constructe d overhead pedestrian bridge at the Torkham border.

The bridge has been constructed tofacilitate the local customs clearing agents in easily approaching offices of the customs and the political administration. The construction of the bridge was delayed due to border clashes between Pakistan and Afghan troops over the construction of a main gate at the Pakistan side in June.

Local traders and customs clearing agents had long been demanding the facility as they had to walk on foot for over two kilometres to reach the of fices of customs and local political administration due to the construction of protective walls on both sides of the road leading to the border crossing.-Correspondent
