The police arrested some eight teachers, but were released later on the intervention of opposition leader in Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Ali Awan.

On Tuesday, over 100 daily-wage teachers along with nonteaching staff staged a protest outside the FDE building.

The protesting employees kept the road in front of FDE blocked for one hour.

The protesters announced they would continue their strike until their demands were met.

The computer science teachers have aslo not been paid their salaries for the last over one year.
