THIS refers to incompetence of AG Sindh staff, which has created problems for retired teachers, lecturers and professors.
With no regular income, these poor people have been deprived of their salaries for the last two months.
It all started when the government announced a plan to computerise the pension system, although the old arrangement was functioning well.
Previously, a pensioner would just to go the bank, fill up a simple form and pension would arrive in the bank on time.
The education department and AG Sindh staff have neither the ability nor have they the commitment to work according to the new system.
Some of the pensioners went there in ambulances, while others on wheelchairs. If they have to change the system, they should do it gradually in phases.
There are also reports that in a few cases the officials have demanded Rs10,000 for releasing the file. This explains why AG Sindh needs a change in the system. They have also robbed the teachers of their arrears.
I suggest salaries of the entire AG Sindh staff should be stopped and their bank accounts frozen so that they know how does it feel when honest people are deprived of their legitimately earned pension.
