KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf`s Karachi region president Firdaus Shamim Naqvi has said that the rulers have no interest in mitigating problems being faced by citizens which is why Karachi, instead of making progress, has regressed during the nine-year rule of Pakistan Peoples Party.

He stated this while addressing a press conference at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam on Thursday regarding his party`s preparations for the `Hugoog-iKarachi March` on Sunday.

PTI leaders Ali Zaidi, Khurram Sherzaman, Naz Baloch, Saema Nadeem, Duwa Khan and others were also present.

Mr Naqvi said the PPP evenwhen it was in power in the Centre failed to pay any heed to the metropolis. Along with the PPP, the other party that often complained about powers, despite sharing power in every government, was equally responsible for devastation of Karachi, he added.

Referring to some pressing problems, the PTI leader said the biggest problem in Karachi at the moment was water, followed by sewage and flawed transport system, but the rulers had no time to pay heed to these problems. He said the PTI had been inviting all Karachiites over and above party affiliations to join the march from the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam to Jail Chowrangi where the participants would be addressed by party chief Imran Khan.
