Malakand varsity announces BA/BSc exam results

TIMERGARA: Naveed Khan of the government degree college, Batkhela, obtained the overall first position by securing 478 marks in the BA/BSc annual examinations 2015 of the University of Malakand (UoM).

The university announced the results here on Thursday. According to a notification, Ms Kulsoom Ali and Ms Nadia Ali of the government girls degree college, Dargai, Malakand, obtained second and third position with 468 and 453 marks, respectively.

It said that a total of 3,858 students appeared in the BSc examinations of which 2,077 were declared successful.

In the BA examinations, Ms Nusrat of the FEF girls` degree college, Chakdara, obtained 386 marks to grab the first position. MrHidayatullah and Farhad Ali, both private candidates, got 379 and 378 marks to secure second and third position, respectively. A total of 17,398 students appeared in the BA examinations of which 3,743 were declared successful.

APCA OFFICE-BEARERS: Mohammad Shair was elected president and Mushtaq Ahmad general secretary of All Pakistan Clerks` Association, Malakand division. A meeting of the APCA districts` wings in this regard was held here with its Swat president Ali Rehman in the chair.

The association`s office-bearers from Swat, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Shangla, Buner, Malakand Agency, Chitral and Bajaur Agency attended the meeting, which decided to organise the association on divisional level. Other office-bearers include Nusrat Ghafoor senior vice-president, Peer Salim vice-president, Ghulam Sarwar press secretary, andMohammad Iqbal finance secretary.

PATIENTS SUFFER: Patients at different hospitals in the district suffered hard as majority of the doctors appeared in NTS test for getting regular jobs in the health department.

The Medical Emergency Relief International (Merlin) has hired doctors for all the hospitals in Lower Dir except the DHQ hospital, Timergara, on ad hoc basis. When contacted, Merlin local team leader Dr Irshad Rughani said that temporary arrangements had been made to cope with the situation. He said that Merlin staff would be available for routine duty from Friday (today).
