Chitrali students exempted from admission fee

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has directed all public sector universities of the province to exempt students belonging to Chitral district from admission fee of an academic year.

A statement issued here said that the directive was issued keeping in view the recent flash floods that caused destruction across Chitral besides paralysing routine life there. The calamity damaged several villagesanddestroyederops.

The statement said that the governor felt the agonies of the dwellers of Chitral district in the aftermath of natural calamity and viewed that in that hour of dif ficulty the people of the districtdeserved maximum relief.

It said that in view of the huge loss inflicted on the district by the natural catastrophe, the governor asked all the public sector universities to exempt Chitrali students from one academic year fee.

In this connection, vicechancellors of all the public sector universities, director Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar and principal E dwardes College have been informed of the governor`s directives for taking necessary action.

Irfanullah, president of Chitral Students Association (CSA), Peshawar University Campus, welcomed the decision and said that it would help hundreds of students hailing from the calamityhit district.Bureau Report
