TOBA TEK SINGH: Joblessness proved, perhaps, too much for a deaf and dumb man who slaughtered his ailing five-year daughter `for his failure` to meet her treatment expenses at Chak 320-GB near Pirmahal on Thursday.

Complainant Javed Iqbal of Chak 333-GB informed police that both his sister Musarrat Bibi and her husband Rafaqat Ali were deaf and dumb. He said the couple would often quarrel with each other over domestic issues. He said Ali slaughtered his daughter Zainab in fit of ill temper.

The accused told reporters that he and his wife were unable to earn due to disability and he had no money for the treatment of his ailing daughter. Pirmahal police had arrested the accused and registered a murder case against him. Correspondent
