LAHORE: Governor/Chancellor of the Punjab University Rafique Rajwana says the politics of agitation will cause harm to democracy while the rulers should adopt a democratic approach and strengthen parliament.

Meanwhile, scores of students of the Halley College of Commerce and Sociology department protested for not giving laptops despite being fallen under the `eligibility criteria`.

They chanted slogans against thegovernment and the university administration for not inviting them in the ceremony and depriving them of laptops.

Addressing the ceremony, the governor said the protest was a democratic right but the politics of agitation and resistance had never benefitted any democracy in the world.

`We should not level baseless allegations of corruption against each other and rather we should focus on the success of Zarb-i-Azab,` he added.

The governor said the ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor would prove a game-changer for Pakistan and the young generation must play their role in the development of thecountry.

He said the country was full of talented people and our journey to progress must not stop. `The government has launched several schemes to empower youth and utilize their energies,` he added.
