PESHAWAR, Nov 27: Activists of Pakistan Tehreek1-Insaf continued their antidrone campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday by restricting the movement of Nato trucks and staff of US Embassy in Kabul.
According to a PTI news release issued here, activists of the party staged a sit-in at five points of the four districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stop Nato supplies bound for Afghanistan.
PTI workers checked documents of the vehicles before allowing them to travel to Afghanistan but they ensured that commercial suppliers bound for private markets in Afghanistan weren`t delayed.
They denied passage to several containers after documents showed that they were transporting goods for Nato forces.
MNA Hamidul Haq, MPAs Arif Yousaf, Fazle Ilahi, Javed Nasim, Zareen Zia and Mahmood Jan, and Insaf Students Federation leader Sohail Afridi were present at the Hayatabad Toll Plaza in Hayatabad Township.
Provincial spokesman for PTI Ishtiaq Urmar said peaceful protest against the US drone strikes would continue until the strokes were stopped.
He said the people were being killed in the unlawful attacks without fault, while PTI had been mandated by the people of the province to defend their rights.
Mr Urmar said the workers were in high spirits and were tirelessly pursuing their goal of denying entry to Nato trucks via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the people of the province had a complete right to hold protest over violation of its territory.
The PTI spokesman said the people of Federally Administered Trial Areas as well as Hangu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were under severe tensions in the wake of the US drone attacks.
He said PTI had planned to convey the concern of the people over drone attacks in Hangu and Fata to the world community and bring into spotlight the human rights violations committed by the US drone attacks. -Bureau Report
