CHARSADDA: The police on Monday arrested a terrorist allegedly involved in an attack on Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, the former interior minister and chief of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP). The terrorist, Samiullah, carries Rs1 million head money.

Charsadda police station SHO Imran Khan told media persons that the police on the directives of DPO Suhail Khalid raided a house in Utmanzai and arrested the accused.

He said the raiding team was led by DSP Nazir Khan. He said the terrorist belonged to Mandani area and was wanted to police in attack on QWP chief Aftab Sherpao during Eid prayers in 2007.

At least 67 were killed and 120 others were injured in that attack where Mr Sherpao survived. The accused was also wanted to Charsadda and Umarzai police in various cases of militancy. Correspondent
