ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Sunday finalised a duty plan for its personnel to ensure security during Ramazan.

The police personnel would observe an eight-hour duty daily. The police officials have been directed to take strict action against violation of the amplifier act and professional alms seekers in markets.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Safe City Centre with SSP (operations) Sajid Kiani in the chair.

The SSP told the participants that the duty hours for the personnel had been limited to eight hours during the holy month.

He said officers would hold Sehri and Iftar with the police personnel deployed at various checkpoints, pickets and other places. The SSP directed all officers to lodge cases against those found violating the amplifier act. He also directed them to take strict action against professional alms seekers.

The police officials were directed to take appropriate security measures in their respective areas to ensure peace during Ramazan. Special gates would be set up at entry points of all mosques, metal detectors would be used to check every visitor and parking of vehicles would be ensured away from the worship places.

Moreover, private security guards and people nominated by mosque administrations would be deployed on security besides the police personnel.

A special plan was also finalised for the security of markets, shopping centres and other places.

According to the plan, police commandos, FC personnel and Muhafiz Force would be deployed in these places from 4pm to 11pm every day. A Reporter
