Private schools protest 5th grade assessment decision

PESHAWAR: Various associations of private schools on Friday held a protest demonstration against the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar (BISEP) for its announcement to conduct assessment of the grade 5th examinations.

The protesters holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans in favour of their demands -gathered on the Sher Shah Suri road outside the Peshawar Press Club and shouted against the BISEP administration.

They were of the opinion that the assessment of the grad 5th was nothing more than waste of time of schoolchildren and point scoring by the government.

The protesters were led by Ageel Razaq, senior vice president of private education network. Talking to media persons, the protesters` leaders said the provincial government was not in a position to manage the grade 5th examination through the Peshawar board as it was an illogical decision which was taken without consulting the stakeholders.
