Murder accused sent to prison

PESHAWAR: The city police on Friday presented two Afghan brothers arrested on charges of killing three women of their family before a local magistrate.

Judicial magistrate Ghulam Hamid sent the two accused to jail on a 14-day judicial remand after they confessed to their crime.

The accused recorded their statement under the section 164 of the CrPC, confessing to their crime, said SP investigations Mohammad Arif.

He said apparent motive behind the murder was women`s involvement in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

Badly charred bodies of three women who were later identified as mother and her two daughters were recovered from Chandmari locality of Tehkal on Oct 17.

The prosecution informed the court that the main accused along with his two brothers strangulated the women at his home.

The court was told that the accused later took the bodies to an open space in the same locality, where they set the corpses on fire. Police have also recovered a white car, which was used to transport the bodies. Bureau Report
