DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Counter-Terrorism Department arrested a suspect and seized explosives from his possession in Dera Madi Bypass Road area here on Monday.

The CTD personnel signaled a suspected person, who was carrying something in a shopping bag, to stop. However, the suspected man tried to flee from the scene but the police chased and arrested him.

During interrogation the accused person was identified as Faizul Amin hailing from Topi area of Swabi. During search of the shopper the CTD police recovered two kilogramme explosives, 12 feet prima wire, a detonator, and other material.

The accused reportedly admitted that the explosives were meant for use in sabotage activity.

The police registered case against the accused under section 5 EXA/7ATA and started investigation.
