LAHORE: Veteran politician Javed Hashmi has said the PML-N government should be allowed to complete its term.

“Like the last elected government, the present democratic set-up must also be allowed to complete its five-year constitutional term as it will strengthen democracy in the country,” he said while talking to reporters.

He said political parties were essential for the working of parliament, adding that keeping the political parties intact was indispensable for the federation.

Mr Hashmi condemned a clash among politicians in parliament, saying those responsible for this should be held accountable.

Replying a question about joining the PML-N or other party, he said: “I will take decision to join any party after some time,” he said.

Earlier, speaking at a seminar “Benefits of the student organisations’ revival”, he said revival of student unions as per rules was good as it would help develop leadership qualities among students. — Staff Reporter
