DSP terminated from service

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Sukhera on Wednesday terminated a woman deputy superintendent of police (DSP) from service over negligence, misconduct and violation of discipline.

The DSP had announced her resignation during the Azadi march of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Islamabad.

According to official report, DSP Khadija Tasneem was found guilty of absenteeism for 14 days in Chakwal. She was directed to join the Police College, Sihala, on Sept 1, 2014, but she remained absent without any leave or permission from the competentauthority. The DSP did not report to her higher authorities till Wednesday.

The IGP had issued many notices to the DSP through courier service/special messengers and national dailies with direction to personally appear before the competent authority for her defence but she failed to do so.

The IGP found Ms Tasneem guilty of the charges and removed her from service with immediate effect and her period of absence shall be treated as leave without pay.

DSP Khadija Tasneem had announced her resignation during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf`s Azadi march over the torture of the PTI activists in August 2014.

A spokesperson for the PunjabPolice said that Ms Tasneem had neither submitted her resignation to the competent authority nor did she contact the department to confirm whether her resignation had reached the authority. She claimed that the DSP was contacted time and again for explanation but in vain.

TRANSFERS: The IGP transferred and posted nine police officials to different areas of the province.

He transferred Sahiwal region SSP investigation Mehmoodul Hassan and posted him as SSP traffic region and directed SSP Hassan Jamil to report to the Central Police Office, Lahore.

Sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) of Qila Deedar Singh (Gujranwala) Muhammad Waseemand Daska (Sialkot) Ghulam Muhammadhave been transferred and posted against each other.

DSP Hassan Farooq, awaiting posting, has been transferred and posted as SDPO Kasur City against a vacant post.

DSP Ahmed Nawaz Shah, awaiting posting, has been transferred and posted as DSP Security Division, Lahore, against DSP Muhammad Amin who was appointed as DSP Investigation III, Gujranwala, against a vacant post.

Lahore DSP VIP Security Division IV, High Court, Riasat Ali has been transferred and posted against a vacant post of DSP RIB Sheikhupura region and SDPO Chishtian Kalwan Karim has been ordered to reportto CentralPolice Office Lahore.
