VEHARI: Four people of a family were injured in an acid attack late on Friday in Chak 206-EB, Vehari Saddar police said.

Noor Muhammad, his wife Sharifan Bibi and sons -Anees, 10, and All Sher, 7 -were asleep in their house when four people barged in the house and fled after throwing acid on them.

The family was rushed to the Vehari District Headquarters Hospital only to be referred to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

M e d i c a 1 Superintendent Dr Farooq said the Vehari hospital has no burn unit.

He said both boys were in a serious condition.

The police registered a case against Ahmed Ali, Muhammad Ali, Shahid Nadeem and HasanBakhsh, relatives of the victims, on the application of Sharifan Bibi.

According to the police, a dispute over the ownership of a shop in the locality between the parties was the cause of the acid attack.

The police also inserted terrorchargesin the case.

HONOUR KILLING: A man killed his wife for honour in Chak 19-WB in the jurisdiction of Machiwal police late on Friday.

Rafiullah beat his wife Rukhsana Bibi, 30, the mother of four, with a stick and repeated fatal strikes killed her.

The police arrested Rafiullah.

Station House Officer Rana Akram said they had registered a murder case against Rafiullah. Some relatives of the deceased woman said the cause of the murder was domestic and poverty issues.
