THE recent announcement of 10,000 laptops for Baloch students by the Balochistan government is a useless step.
Why are laptops being provided to intermediate, bachelor`s, master`s, MPhil and PhD students? As everybody knows, Balochistan is a backward province, especially in education. The entire education system is outdated. There are neither qualified teachersnornecessary changesin textbooks and rules and regulations.
Most importantly, cheating in examinations is common at all levels.
There are several issues in all educational institutions of the province.
Instead of providing laptops, the ministers` attention should have been on upgrading the education system. Laptops cannot increase the students learning process.
It will be better if the Balochistan government focuses on appointing talented teachers, building more schools and tackling education-related challenges.
