2016-10-30
KOHAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa law minister Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi has said that they are going to move court against the exclusion of industrial parks and other facilities from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route passing through southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was addressing a public rally here on Saturday at the inauguration ceremony of Rs20 million Darmalak Road project. He rejected the Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan route without industrial parks, industrial zones and tracks which directly affected millions of people of KP. He accused the PML-N government of ignoring KP, saying the ruling party in the centre believed that only Punjab was Pakistan.

He reminded the federal government of KP`s repeated reservations about CPEC`s southern route, adding that now they had no option but to take the matter to the court.

He claimed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had adopted a stepmotherly attitude towards KP and punishing its people who voted forPTI. Referring to the announcements made by the prime minister during his Friday`s public meeting in Kohat, he said that Mr Sharif announced gas and highways projects which had already been sanctioned. He added that Mr Sharif ignored the Hangu and Karak districts which were also part of Kohat division.

The function was also attended by Lachi tehsil nazim Nazir Khan and other councillors. The minister also took oath from the members of the newly-elected cabinet of Lachi tehsil employees association where provincial secretary general of Local Government Employees Federation, Anwar Kamal, was also present.

On this occasion, the minister claimed that the impression that local oil and gas companies were investing in the development of the area was based on assumptions.

He gave one month time to the OGDCL and other companies to replace all the employees from Punjab with the local people of Kohat, Hangu and Karak. Correspondent
