As revealed in the reports, it is the evil practice ofghostteachers thathas brought down the academic standard as teachers` workload is increased as they share the load of ghost teachers. Students` poor health, the otherfactor, because of under-nourishment adversely affects the learning.

Educational institutions working in the public sector are devoid of the services of meritorious teachers. The available teachershave poorgrasp overthe curriculum, another vital component of education.

The latest topics added to the syllabus in view of the advancement of technology are beyond the comprehension of teachers, thus decaying the academic standard.

Thereis aneed to develop students on lines of modern education. Teacher`s improvement in knowledge is necessary to confront the fast-growing information and technology.

This is the government`s job to extend training facility to teachers in pursuing the latesttechniques and skills taking place in the education sector.

There is no dearth of competent and hardworking teachers and they possess the requisite qualifications, only good governance and provision of physical facilities can helpincrease the standard of education and can also brighten the image of the teacher. A constant and cogent approachisneeded as Plato says that education is a life-long process.
