MIRAMSHAH: Security forces defused an improvised explosive device while another went off on the Miramshah-Datakhel Road in North Waziristan on Sunday.

Officials said the IED, planted near the Klanjer checkpost, exploded soon after a convoy of security forces passed by it. The blast did not cause any damage.

Another IED was defused near Miramshah.

Helicopter gunships were called in and a curfew was imposed in the area after the explosion.-Correspondent
