GUJRAT, Feb 10: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said the Pakistan People`s Party never sought votes on the basis of uplift projects and it was the PPP government`s policy to hand over development funds to provinces and it has proved it is a real democratic party.

He was addressing a large gathering of supporters and locals in Chakori Bhelowal village of his constituency NA-106 on Sunday.

Kaira said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had become a party only of Lahore and a few surrounding areas where Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan and Tehreek-eMinhajul Quran chief Tahirul Qadri were ready to challenge its so-called popularity.

He said actually the federal government had provided funds for the `jangla bus service`. He also accused the Punjab government of wasting billions of rupees on the so-called `tandoor scheme`, adding the deteriorating law and order situation of the province was enough to prove the lofty claims of good governance by the Punjab government wrong.

The minister said it was only the PPP that could dare to face dictatorial rules as its diehard workers would never part ways with it.
