Waleed stars for Pak Gymkhana

KARACHI: Waleed Ahmed struck a breezy half-century as Pak Gymkhana crushed Bright CC by 10 wickets in their second round fixture of the KCCA Zone-IV Abdul Rauf Malik Cricket Tournament at the Pak Star Ground here on Saturday.

Waleed, son of former Pakistan off-spinner and current national selector Tauseef Ahmed, scored 60 with the aid of nine boundaries and a six while Abdullah Zareen contributed 33 (five fours) to help their side race to 95 without loss in just 9.5 overs.

Earlier, Bright CC were bowled out for 94 in 23.4 overs despite Bakhtiar Ali blasting 64 with 13 fours.

The pace duo of Shahid Mahmood and Shahid Nadeem shared five wickets between them.

Meanwhile in another match played earlier, slow lef tarmer Mohammad Irfan grabbed four wickets for 13 runs as Al-Hadeed Gymkhana sealed a four-wicket win over United Gymkhana.
