KARACHI: A total of 12 teams would vie for honours in the inaugural Innovator Karachi Super League (KSL) at the Lawai Cricket Stadium in Naya Nazimabad with Defence Royals taking on Surjani Eagles in the opening match at 8:00pm.

The tournament will be officially inaugurated at 6:00pm by Arif Habib, chairman of Arif Habib Group Arif Habib who will be the chief guest on the occasion.

A total of 38 matches, which will be televised live by a private TV channel, will be played at the league stage with the competing teams divided in two pools.

The quarter-finals would be held on Jan 17 and 18, the semi-finals on the 19th while the final is slated to be played on Jan 20.

According to details available, man-of-the-match of every league fixture will be awarded Rs3,000, the best batsmen Rs1,500, best bowler Rs1,500 and master blaster of the match will pocket Rs1,500.

Other awards will be announced later.
