Bodies of coalminers reach Shangla, Swat

SHANGLA: Bodies of three coalminers, who died during a mine collapse near Quetta on Saturday, reached Shangla and Swat districts on Sunday morning where they were laid to rest amid moving scenes later in the day.

Ahmed Shah of Pirabad Alpuri and Khan Sar of Koz Kana area were buried in their ancestral graveyards here, while Azam Khan was laid to rest in his native town in Bahrian, Swat district.

A large number of people, relatives and friends participated in the funeral prayers.

Last week, a miner, Fazal Roz Khan, was killed and three were injured in a gas explosion in a coalmine in Darra Adamkhel. The injured miners belonging to Shapoor village here were shifted to a hospital in Rawalpindi. —Correspondent
