KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, and police carried out an intelligence-based action in Machhar Colony of Sohrab Goth and arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the recent killing of three brothers and recovered the weapon used in the triple murder from his possession, said a spokesperson for the paramilitary force.

The official identified the held suspect as `Asadullah Afghani` and recovered the 9mm pistol used in the triple murder from him.

According to the spokesperson, three brothers Nazar Mohammed, Khayal Mohammed and Saeed Mohammed were shot dead by unidentified suspects in Gabol Town of New Karachi on Dec 10, 2022.

After the incident, the police and Rangers formed a joint team, which conducted an intelligence-based action and detained the suspect, Asadullah Afghani.`During the initial probe, it transpired that the held suspect along with his accomplices Milad Shah Afghani, Sadiq Afghani alias Qari and Yaseen alias Anka killed the three brothers over a dispute on drug dens in the locality.

The suspect also `confessed` to have killed a shopkeeper Juma Khan Afghani during a house robbery in the Supermarket area of Qayumabad on Nov 29, 2022. Efforts are under way to arrest his accomplices.

Fisherman drowns The body of a fisherman was recovered from the sea on Tuesday, according to Edhi Foundation and Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum officials.

They added that three fishermen drowned when their boat capsized in sea during fishing near Ibrahim Hyderi on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Edhi divers managed to retrieve the body of one of the drowned fishermen while search operation for the missing two was under way.
