SUKKUR: A man, his sister-in-law and young niece were killed when a group of armed men ambushed them and fired at their motorcycle in Soomrani Wadhiya village near Dakhan, Shikarpur district, on Friday.

Police officials said the victims identified as Rafiq Ahmed alias Kalu Lolai, Ms Fahmida wife of Mashooq Lolai and her three-year-old daughter Alisha died on the spot and the area police shifted the bodies to RBUT Civil Hospital for post mortem examination.

They said that they had started investigating the incident to uncover the motive behind the triple murder.

The incident seemed to have happened due to an old enmity between two rival groups of Lolai community, they said.

According to a statement issued by district police, Shikarpur SSP Shahzeb Chachar has directed police teams to arrest the assailants immediately.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the fleeing attackers, it said.
