Disciplinary action against PU students

LAHORE: The Punjab University (PU) administration on Friday took disciplinary action against eight students under charges of violence in different incidents on the campus.
According to details, Abdullah Azam of the Institute of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering and Ghulam Murtaza of the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education were expelled on charges of violencerelated activities.
Adil Shahzad of the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education was fined Rs10,000 and rusticated for one year for rioting; and the admission of Zubair Ali of the Institute of Islamic Studies was cancelled for using inappropriate language against the syllabus and teachers.
Similarly, the admission of Nabila Ashiq, a student of the Institute of Islamic Studies, was also cancelled on charges of stealing a classmate`s mobile phone and other items.The disciplinary committee imposed a fine of Rs5,000 and a warning on Muhammad Adeel, Muhammad Ahmar, Umer Akram and Farhan Adeel of the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education for various violations.
PU spokesperson said indiscriminate action was taken against the students involved in violence and committing disciplinary violations.
He said the disciplinary committee was holding hearings of the other incidents of violence and would announce its decisions soon.
Meanwhile, the PU E x a m i n a t i o n s Department has extended the last date for receipt of admission forms and fee for college candidates of LLB (three years) Part-II, III and LLB(fiveyears)Part-I,II, III, IV and V supplementary examinations 2024.
According to details, now the last date of submission of admission forms with single fee is Feb 3.Staf f Reporter
