LAHORE: The candidates of the independent group were elected chairman and vice chairman of the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) executive committee unopposed on Friday.
The Hamid Khan-led professional group boycotted the election citing reservations over its procedure.
Additional Advocate General of Punjab Wasim Mumtaz conducted the polling process.
Irfan Sadiq Tarar was elected vice chairman while Farooq Dogar was chosen as chairman of the executive committee unopposed.
Mr Tarar hails from Lahore while Mr Dogar represents Faisalabad division.
Independent group`s head Ahsan Bhoon, Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Tahir Nasarullah Warraich, and members Pir Masood Chishti and Chaudhry Hafeezur Rehman were also present at the polling process.
