RAWALPINDI: Sunni Tehreek (ST) and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) workers and supporters took over the security of the area where Mumtaz Qadri`s house is located and did not allow police and other security agencies to enter the vicinity.

Sunni Tehreek Rawalpindi Chapter spokesman Mohammad Naeem told Dawn that after the execution of Qadri, the residents and party workers did not want any security from the police.

He said the party workers had made the security arrangements and the absence of police would not make any difference.

However, the Sadiqabad police SHO, Mohammad Waseem, told Dawn that the police and other law enforcement agencies had been deployed in plain clothes to avoid any clash with the supporters of Mumtaz Qadri.
