LAHORE: Minister of State for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday announced there would be no loadshedding across the country on March 5 when the PSL final would be held in Lahore.
The minister said while speaking to the audience at the inauguration of the 220kV grid station in Chishtian tehsil.
According to a press release, the minister after inaugurating the grid station of the National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC) said: `Power projects of over 10,000MW capacity are being completed on fast track. 220kV grid station in Chishtian along with 88km transmission line has been constructed by the NTDC at a cost of Rs2.6bn.
He said the facility would end forced loadshedding, improve voltage and minimise tripping due to overloading of the system.
Resultantly, power supply to Chishtian, Bahawalnagar, Hasilpur, Noor Sar, Haroonabad, Dhahranwala and Fort Abbas would improve.
He claimed the Ministry of Water and Power, NTDC and power distribution companies had overcome 90pc system constraints and maximum relief would be provided to the consumers during Ramazan.
