LARKANA: Annual election for High Court Bar Association, Larkana, was held here on Thursday.

Athar Abbas Solangi, Asif Chandio, Abid Hussain Kalhoro, Ahmed Hussain Shahani, and Ghulam Mohammad Barejo were elected as president, general secretary, joint secretary, library secretary and treasurer, respectively, for the year, 2025. Noorudin Mahesar had already returned uncontested as vice president.

According to unofficial results, Athar Abbas Solangi obtained 586 votes and defeated Inayatullah Morio who was polled 225 votes for the seat of president. Asif Hussain Chandio secured 472 votes to beat Wakeel Ali Shaikh who got 360 votes.

Ten lawyers were declared winners of members of managing committee.

Yasir Arfat Shar, member of Sindh Bar Council, acted as returning officer for the election. —Correspondent
