Impersonators arrested

ISLAMABAD: A bunch of impersonators in police uniform raided a call centre and demanded Rs3 million from its Sri Lankan chief executive officer but staff of the centre overpowered four of them.

A case has been registered at Shalimar police station under sections 384, 170, 171, 506 and 511 of PPC in response to a complaint lodged by CEO Selwaraj Disna Dilrukshi.

The police said that seven persons, including a woman came to Eyana Customer Service located in E-11 and introduced themselves as officials of Special Branch of police. They made and attempt to snatch a mobile phone form Ms Dilrukshi`s husband, besides, manhandling him. They also threatened the staff with dire consequences and demanded Rs3 million.

Somehow, the staff of the centre overpoweredfour of them while three others managed to escape.

Later, the police were informed and the impersonators were handed over to them for further legal action. Staff Reporter
