MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission has sent soft data of voter lists compiled in all ten AJK districts to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for verification of computerised national identity card (CNIC) numbers.
This was stated by Tariq Mahmood Butt, spokesman for the Election Commission, here on Thursday.
Nadra, he said, would omit wrong or more than one entry of a voter during the verification process over the next 20 days, he said.
Furthermore, all those persons who qualified to be the voters according to the Nadra database but could not get themselves enrolled earlier for any reason, would also be included in the rolls as `leftover cases`, he added.
Nadra returned lists would be displayed in the offices of registration officers to draw complaints to the authorities concerned (deputy commissioners) about addition or exclusion of voters, Mr Butt said, asserting that special attention would be paid to remove the names of deceased persons.
Regardingtheregistrationof post-1990Kashmirimigrants, living in AJK, he said since most of them did not possess CNIC but a refugee card issued by the AJK Rehabilitation Department, the Election Commission would prepare their lists separately to be annexed with the rolls of their constituency concerned.
The spokesman urged people to get their CNIC prepared by taking full advantage of the deployment of 23 mobile vans by Nadra, so that they could also get themselves registered as voters even until the announcement of election schedule, though through an application.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said that the CEC had made an amendment in the schedule for enrolment of Pakistan based Kashmiri voters.MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission has sent soft data of voter lists compiled in all ten AJK districts to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for verification of computerised national identity card (CNIC) numbers.
