Rain, dust storms expected next week

LAHORE: The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast rain-dust-thunderstormwithgusty winds from coming Monday to Thursday over the upper and some central parts of the country.
Its latest advisory says rain/thunderstorm associated with gusty winds is expected at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Monday to Thursday. Isolated heavy fall is also expected inMalakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir on Tuesday to Wednesday.
Rain/dust-thunderstorms is expected at scattered places of Rawalpindi,Sargodha,Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions and Islamabad from Monday to Wednesday. Rain/thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places of Quetta, Zhob, DG Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions on Monday/Tuesday.
Rain/thunderstorm with strongwinds is expected in Islamabad/ Rawalpindi from Tuesday to Thursday. Isolated hailstorm is also likely. Hailstorm is also expected at a few places of upper Punjab, upper KP and Kashmir during the period.
Meanwhile, it remained hot and dry over the plains of the country on Friday. It nevertheless rained at some places over the upper parts of the country because of a shallow westerly wave.Kalam recorded 14mm of rain, Dir 11, Mirkhani 8, Peshawar 6, Parachinar 5, Chitral 4, Balakot 3, Bannu 2, Mangla 3, Astore 8, Skardu 4, Muzaffarabad, Garhi Dupatta l.
Shaheed Benazirabad recorded the highest maximum temperature in the country which was 43 degrees Celsius. It was followed by Sibbi, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur thatrecorded42 degrees.
The maximum temperature ofLahore and Faisalabad was 37 degrees Celsius and Multan 38.
The Met department forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
It will remain hot in Sindh and south Punjab. Light rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and G-B.-Staf f Reporter
