KARACHI: The dollar on Wednesday lost 34 paisa against the rupee to settle at Rs152.75.
Currency dealers said the dollar almost fell to a twoyear low. The steep fall of the dollar continued was as per market expectations and the dealers see a further decline in the coming days.
They said in the interbank market there was no chanceforthe greenback to gain against the rupee in the near future, as inflows of foreign exchange were high and the current account was surplus.
Bankers said the State Bank of Pakistan did not come out for the rescue of the exchange rate for exporters, who have been crying against the falling dollar.
The exporters said that a weak dollar, or a strong rupee, would not help increase the country`s exports.
