LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday allowed bakeries to remain open till 1am daily during Ramazan.
Justice Shahid Karim relaxed the timings for the bakeries hearing multiple petitions relating to environmental issues.
Last week, the judge had also allowed the restaurants and other food outlets to remain open from Iftar to Sehr during Ramazan.
Before the start of the fasting month, there were orders by the court for the eateries and bakeries to close by 10pm during the first five days of the week and by 11pm on weekends.
During Friday`s hearing, the judge expressed his concern over the construction of underpasses in the city. He noted that the remodelling of the existing roads was necessary instead of constructing underpasses at every other square.
Justice Karim ordered the LDA to remove illegal car parkings from outside a famous mall in Johar Town.-Staff Reporter
