ISLAMABAD: Two ministers on Sunday faced humiliation when the `Go Nawaz go` slogan was raised during the final match of a football tournament at Liaquat Gymnasium.
Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb and Minister for Capital Administration andDevelopment Tariq Fazal Chaudhry were co-chief guests at the event Mayor Football Cup tournament.
Soon after they arrived in the stadium, some spectators, who appeared to be workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, chanted the slogan `Go Nawaz go`.
This put the two ministers in an awkward situation and they found it difficult to stay there any more. They left the stadium duringthe match without distributing awards and delivering their speeches.
Later, PTI information secretary Naeemul Haq claimed that the spectators had been tortured for raising the slogan. `We condemn the action against the spectators, he said, adding that `Go Nawaz go` had become a `national slogan` and it would chase the ministers wherever they went.
