Early appointments to Tanawal tehsil admin promised

MANSEHRA: Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati on Tuesday promised an early appointment of administrative officers to the newly-created Tanawal tehsil of Mansehra district.
`Tanawal was notified as a tehsil by the last PTI government, but the succeeding caretakers withheld that notification. Not only have we restored that notification, but we`re going to appoint staff members to the 1(ey positions of the tehsil administration,` Mr Swati told a group of visitors from the tehsil in his office.
Local government minister Arshad Ayub and adviser to the chief minister on tourism Zahid Chanzeb were also present on the occasion.
Mr Swati said Tanawal was rich innatural resources and wonders, so the government was committed to exploring them to generate money and benefit locals.
He said the hospitality industry in the tehsil would also be promoted to create employment opportunities for the residents.
`We [the government] are utilising all available resources to address people`s economic issues, especially poverty, on priority,` he said.
Mr Chanzeb told visitors that appropriate funds would be allocated in the next budget to promote tourism in the province, especially Hazara division, in light of the recommendations of the visitors.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf provincial presidentKamal Saleem Swati and former Lassan Nawab nazim Aslam Tanoli, who were also part of the delegation, highlighted the problems of residentsand called for their early yet effective resolution.
They also demanded the early establishment of the Rescue 1122 station in Tanawal.
HELD: Police have arrested a man on Oghi area here for allegedly uploading sacrilegious contents to his social media accounts.
SHO of the Oghi police station Waheed Murad confirmed the arrest and told Dawn on Tuesday that the man was held after police received a formal complaint from a group of residents led by prayer leader Mufti Moman Khan Usmani last week.
`We took the suspect into custody after a preliminary investigation,` he said.
Clerics announced that they wouldpursue the case in a court of law.
