Woman injured in Indian firing

MUZAFFARABAD: A woman was injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in unprovoked firing by Indian forces from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday, police said.
`The Indian troops resorted to firing in Nakyal sector without any provocation, targeting civilian population in close proximity of the dividing line, with small and medium-size arms, Kotli SSP ChaudhryZulgarnain Sarfraz told Dawn.
He said Zarina Begum, 26, was busy doing household chores in the courtyard of her house in Dharoti village when a bullet from across the LoC hit her at about 12:30pm.
`She has been hospitalised, but is out of danger, the SSP said.
On May 26, Farzand Begum, 60, was killed when Indian troops opened hre in Naali village of AJK`s southernmost Bhimber district.
