A novel way of KE bashing

2017-06-01
UNLIKE the rest of the population of Karachi, I would like to appreciate the great job that K-Electric has been doing since the beginning of Ramazan.

The best fast that a Muslim can observe is one which is kept under the toughest of circumstances. The KE is ensuring that all Muslim brothers and sisters in Karachi face the toughest conditions duringthis Ramazan to gain maximum spiritual rewards.

The power outages during Sehar and Iftar are special occasions for piety being provided by KE. In the area in which I reside, the utility`s late night packages for salvation include power outage from 11pm to 3am.

I feel all citizens should reciprocate and remember the KE management in their prayers for working selflessly to ensure that we reap maximum spiritual benefits of the holy month.

A grateful citizen Karachi (2) WE have had normal electricity supply for the last two years with a few incidents of loadshedding. Af ter so many difficult summers, things finally seemed better.

However, for the past week in the Zamzama area (where all customers regularly pay bills), the K-Electric switched off electricityy for approximately four hours from 10.30am to 6pm, giving `maintenance work` for the reason.

However, even after the restoration of the electricity supply after the maintenance work was over, voltage is so low that our appliances, including intercoms, which require a meagre 12 volts to operate, cannot function. What is the point of such maintenance work? We have already made numerous complaints about this without any result as yet. The KE management should look into this matter on an urgent basis.
