KARACHl: Police on Friday registered a murder case against a man and his three sons for allegedly killing his two nephews, including a son-in-law, in an ambush near Guru Mandir on Thursday.
However, no arrest has been made in connection with the broad daylight attack.
On Thursday, assailants riding motorcycles had sprayed a car carrying five brothers with bullets. Two of the brothers were killed on the spot, while as many suffered injuries and are currently under treatment. The fifth brother escaped the attack unhurt.
Jamshed Quarters SHO Imtiaz Husain Shah said that the prime suspect Mian Zar, along with other suspects, carried out the attack to take `revenge` for the last year killing of his son Aijaz.
He said that the victims and suspects owned two ice cream shops in Lasbela and near Guru Mandir.
He told Dawn that the enmity between the two families began in 2023 after the murder of Aijaz allegedly over a TikTok video he posted against his brother-in-law Sajid. He said Aijaz`s brother Riaz had lodged an FIR against all five brothers at the Soldier Bazaar police station. They were out on bail.
On Friday, Shanzeb, the surviving brother, lodged an FIR under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
He told the police that he, along with his four brothers Sajid Khan, 42, Umair, 27, Zubair, 45 and Wajid, 32 had left their home in Lasbela in their car to appear before a court in the murder case.
He nominated his uncle Mian Zar, his three sons Arshad, Rashid, Riaz and his grandson Amir and five unknown suspects for the murder of his two brothers.
He informed the police that he heard his uncle saying `no one should be spared` and `kill all of them` when their car came under attack.
He said his two brothers, Sajid Khan and Umair, suffered fatal wounds. He said he saved his life by hiding behind the seat in the car.
