CDA approves PC-I of several schemes

ISLAMABAD: Development Working Party of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday approved PC-I of several new projects including setting of district courts in sector G-11.

The other main projects include interchange at 9th Avenue near Shaheen Chowk and E-11 chowk on Khyaban-iIqbal.

Speaking to Dawn after the meeting, CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed said besides other projects, PC-I of construction of 93 district courts in sector G-11 has also been approved.

Another officer of CDA said that 93 courts of steel frame and concrete will be set up in sector G-11 where district courts from F-8 Markaz would be shifted.

He said the CDA would construct the court at the cost of around Rs600 million.

`We will make every effort to get this project completed in six months time, he said and added that besides construction of courts, the CDA would also set uplawyers` f acilitation centre, which would be completed in one year time.

At present, district courts are functioning in F-8 markaz, which is a commercial centre, where lawyers are also facing problems for setting up their chambers.

The CDA official said that PC-I of a five-year-long Margalla Hills National Park beautification project costing of Rs5,000 million was also approved.

PC-I of a 100-bed facility at CDA Hospital costing Rs186 million, rainwater harvesting project worth Rs125 million and construction of parking areas costing Rs7,200 million were also approved by the authority`s DWP.

Other projects include construction of Khayaban Margalla costing Rs3,296 million, construction of bridge on Kayani Road in Bhara Kahu at the cost of Rs193 million and development of Sector D-12 at the cost of Rs1,804 million were also approved.

The DWP also approved PC-I of a project worth Rs1,705 million to make Shaheen Chowk at 9th Avenue signal free.

E-11 Chowk will also be made signal free at the cost of Rs1,472 million.
