Chinese envoy visits CDA, Pak-China Friendship Centre

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong on Wednesday visited Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters and Pak-China Friendship Centre.

The envoy held a meeting with CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed in his of fice.

According to the CDA officials, the ambassador showed his interest to explore the initiative to transform Islamabad into a smart city, with introduction of automation, in supervision as well as management. During the meeting, the CDA chairman briefed him about functioning of the civic body.

`The chairman acknowledged the cooperation received from China from time to time for the residents of Islamabad.

The ambassador thanked the chairman for the briefing and assured of continued cooperation from China the same was reciprocated by Pakistan,` said a press release issued by CDA.

It said that the Chinese ambassador appreciated CDA`s commitment to develop Islamabad and simultaneously preserve the environmental balance.

He also visited the Pak-China Friendship Centre which was a landmark of cooperation of friendship between the two countries. The Pakistani government had set up the centre with the financial support of China.

Sources said during his visit to Pak-China Centre and CDA headquarters, Nong Rong hinted that China would support CDA in making Islamabad a smart city. Staff Reporter
