(EDITORIAL) As Boundary Commissions are shortly to undertake the task of final delimitation of the territories of both Western and Eastern Pakistan, Hindu propagandists have started their usual raging and tearing campaign to hoodwink the Commissioners, and through their good offices to grab considerable portions of various Muslim majority districts on one pretext or another. They are trying to commit what we may describe as robbery in broad daylight, by having maps drawn and published which show even predominantly Muslim areas as nonMuslim areas.

... One does not enter into an argument with the light-fingered gentry who seek to pick one`s pocket in a public thoroughfare but ... the map which the [Amrita Bazar] Patrika has published, the Muslim majority areas in the districts of Jalpaiguri [etc] have been shaded as non-Muslim.

...The position is that Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling on the North and the Chittagong Hill Tracts on the East have been so completely isolated from Hindu Bengal proper, that no Boundary Commission can finally detach them from Eastern Pakistan, for the simple reason that the all-important factor of contiguity between them and Hindu Bengal does not exist.

Therefore, by hook or by crook some `corridor` must be hacked right through Muslim majority areas to bring in contiguity. Dawn Delhi
