Two youth die in road mishap

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two youths belonging to Dera Ismail Khan died in a tragic traffic accident in the Neelum Valley of Kashmir, on Sunday.

According to details, Sher Ali and Faisal Mehmood were currently studying at Gomal University, DI Khan.

Both went for a trip to Neelum Valley, Kashmir on their motorbikes where they met with the road accident and died on the spot.

DACOITS LOOT VALUABLES: Two armed dacoits looted the cash and mobile phones from a shop located here at Northern Circular road in the limits of City police station on Sunday.

A police official said that the shopkeeper, Abbas Awan son of Ageel Ahmad, reported to police that two accused came to his shop on a motorcycle and took away a number of used mobile phones and one and a half lakh rupees in cash from him at gunpoint.

The police registered a case and started investigation.

POWER THEFT: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) intensified a crackdown against power pilferers in Dera Ismail Khan as over 100 illegal connections were removed and Rs five million pending dues were recovered in Mandhran sub-division during the last four days.

A company official said that a team of Pesco had conducted operations against power theft in different areas and 35 cases of illegal power connections were forwarded to police stations concerned for registration ofcases againstaccused.

Talking to media, Pesco Superintending Engineer Fida Muhammad Mehsud said the Pesco Dera Circle would continue the crackdown against illegal connections and recovery of pending dues.

He urged upon the consumers to pay their monthly bills regularly to get a smooth power supply.
